As a kick off to the night and my first post — get to know me by the good ol’ survey!

2. Date of Birth: October 17, 1987

3. Place of Birth: AK Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK

4. Occupation: Full-time student majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology, and I am a part-time Pharmacy Technician. When I get the chance, I also love doing internships and volunteering at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. I try to be Super Woman!

5. Your perspective as to where you are now: I am a woman with ambition and drive… and at the same time, I am your average girl that is trying to get somewhere someday.

6. Your family and friends describe these 5 things about you: the sweetheart, hard working, strong, intelligent, and motivated.

7. Traits that you adore in the opposite sex: I like a man with goals, intelligent, good sense of humor, cute, and spontaneous.

8. Piercings or Tattoos: As of now, I have 3 piercings… I am looking forward to getting 4 more piercings on my birthday!

9. All time favorite movie: Aladdin

10. Flaws: I am not going to lie, I am stubborn and impatient at times. If you approach me at the wrong time and place, I tend to be a bit cold hearted.

11. Is there anything that your family and friends wish you would improve on? : I have been told that I tend to guard my heart and feelings a bit too much. I used to never really be this way… but the truth is that ever since my grandma passed away last year, I started to bottle up my feelings. Since then, I began to overload myself with priorities in order for me to not think of things as much. Being busy and stressed was my coping mechanism. These habits have carried on since then. As a result, I tend to be closed off and I shut people out when I am truly upset and hurt.

12. What makes you happy?: the simple and little things in life =) I am a simple girl, and I do not like to ask for much or expect too much.

13. Two things that people have told you that can get you in trouble: From what I have been told, it is my smile and being a bit of a perfectionist at times!

14. Fears: My ultimate fear is failure, and losing my loved ones. A few of my other fears include love and heights (even though I like flying… weird, right?)

15. Name a random kitchen event when you were a child: I remember this one time when my brother and I were attempting to bake alphabet cookies. I think one of us confused the sugar with the salt once we started mixing the ingredients together. Needless to say, our cookies came out salty in the end! So much for learning the alphabet lol

16. Best compliment you have ever received: I have been blessed with having a handful of sincere teachers and professors throughout my education. When I was in middle school, I had this one middle school teacher in particular that really changed my outlook on education. I remember sitting at a parent teacher conference one evening, and I remember her telling me that I am lucky to be blessed with the three gifts of being smart, beautiful, and humble…and that these three gifts will get me far ahead in life. When I was younger, all I could really do at the time was smile and thank her. Now that I have grown up a bit more, I have become appreciative for her guidance.

17. Favorite beer: Corona (light) !

18. People are still surprised that…. : I currently live here for now! People that have not seen me in awhile are surprised to see me in Alaska. Long story short, I moved back to Anchorage from Washington last year due to family reasons. Sorry ya’ll, I only told my family and close friends! I am working on finishing my degree, and once I get into Pharmacy school (hopefully!), then I will be leaving, once again.

19. This is something that no one can ever take away from you: My education and my heart. My education is something that I have dedicated my heart and soul towards, and I will continue to strive and make sacrifices because my education is the one thing that will allow me to be where I want to be someday.

20. Favorite word of all time: esperanza. esperanza = spanish way of saying hope
